Chainomics AI gives you a fully personalized logistics intelligence workspace the moment you sign up. This page covers everything you need to do after you first land on chainomics.ai — from creating your account and setting your preferences to subscribing to daily AI briefings and using the built-in AI assistant, Ms. Z.

Create your account

Go to the sign-up page

Navigate to chainomics.ai and click Sign Up in the top navigation bar, or go directly to chainomics.ai/auth.

Fill in your details

Enter the following on the sign-up form:
  • Full name — used for your profile and daily briefing personalization
  • Email address — your work email is recommended
  • Password — minimum 6 characters
Click Create Account when you’re ready.
Chainomics is a free tier platform — no credit card is required to create an account. You receive 100 AI credits per month automatically on the free tier.

Confirm your email

Check your inbox for a confirmation email from Chainomics. Click the verification link inside to activate your account. You’ll be redirected to your workspace automatically.
After signing in, open Settings from the left sidebar (or navigate to /settings). Settings is organized into the following sections:

Click Save Changes after editing your profile information. Password and timezone changes take effect immediately.

Subscribe to daily briefing emails

The Daily Briefing is an AI-generated executive summary of the top logistics issues delivered to your inbox each morning — port congestion alerts, diesel price moves, tariff policy changes, labor activity, and more.

Open the Billing & Subscriptions page

Click Billing in the left sidebar, or go to /billing.

Enable the Daily Briefing

On the Plans tab, locate the Daily Briefing toggle and switch it on.
Generating a daily briefing costs 3 credits. On the free tier, this means you can receive approximately 33 briefings per month from your 100 monthly credits — more if you earn additional credits through data uploads.

Personalize your briefing

Chainomics personalizes your briefing to your industry and lanes. Make sure your company profile is filled in (Settings → Profile Information) and that you have shipments imported into your workspace. The AI uses your active lanes and shipment history to surface the most relevant signals each morning.

Ask Ms. Z — your AI logistics assistant

Ms. Z is Chainomics AI’s natural language assistant, available on every page of the platform. Ask her anything about what you’re currently viewing — freight market conditions, shipment risk explanations, tariff exposure calculations, carrier safety scores, or border wait times.

How to use Ms. Z

  1. Click the Ms. Z button in the bottom corner of any page.
  2. Type your question in plain English. For example:
    • “What’s driving the spike in OTRI this week?”
    • “Which of my shipments have weather risk in the next 48 hours?”
    • “What’s the current USMCA tariff-shift rule for HTS 8471.30?”
  3. Ms. Z streams a response using the full context of the page you’re on.
Ms. Z offers a 5-question free trial on the landing page — no account required. Once you’re signed in, each message costs 1 credit from your monthly balance.
Ms. Z is page-scoped: ask her a question while viewing the Diesel Prices page and she’ll ground her answer in the current regional fuel data on screen. Navigate to a different page and her context refreshes automatically.

Language settings

Chainomics AI supports English and Spanish. The platform detects your browser language preference automatically. To switch languages manually, use the language selector in the top navigation bar.
All AI-generated content — Ms. Z responses, daily briefings, shipment risk explanations, and agent alerts — is available in both English and Spanish.

View your credit balance

Your current credit balance is always visible at the bottom of the left sidebar. It shows:
  • Credits remaining this billing period
  • A progress bar showing percentage used
  • Color coding: normal (blue) → low (yellow at >80% used) → critical (red at >95% used)
Click the credit indicator at any time to jump to the Billing → AI Credits tab, where you can see:
  • Total balance remaining
  • Monthly credits used vs. allocated
  • Purchased credit pool
  • Credits earned from data imports (last 30 days)
  • A full usage breakdown by action type
  • A timestamped activity log of every credit consumption event
You earn free credits by uploading data. Import a CSV, upload a PDF, or connect your TMS — each action rewards you with credits and advances your tier in the Bronze → Silver → Gold → Platinum progression. See Credits & Pricing for the full tier breakdown.
